As any hardened coffee lover knows, a consistently good brew can be hard to come by. You might think youve met your match at one caf only to find the next time you try it, its nothing like you remember. Enter the Three Beans crew, headed up by owner (and four-cup-a-day-man) Matthew Howe!
The Three Beans cafes are all about coffee you can rely on. With tentacles spreading across Sydney and most recently, Mosman, Three Beans guarantees you an unbeatable caffeine hit no matter where you wash up. As well as the specialty brews we offer, we worked closely with our roaster, Gabriel, to create a three beans black blend that combines Ethiopian beans in a washed and natural variety so we get a consistent coffee thats not always changing. Weve tried to remove as much human error from the process of getting a great coffee as possible! says Matthew.
But with good coffee must come good food, and luckily Mathew and his team are all over that as well. With international experience in hospitality to call on, plus a Gourmet Traveller-style attitude to checking out the competition, Matthew has created a hit list of on-trend dishes that move with the times. On the menu at the Mosman cafe, for example, customers can expect to gobble down everything from smoothie and Nourish Bowls to beef brisket on brioche. We dont want to do the standard caf thing, says Matthew, Three Beans is always vibrant and changing.
For Matthew its also important to let customers know what goes on behind the scenes in food production at Three Beans. He says, It may not be the cheapest way to run a business, but for us ethics in food production and animal welfare are at the centre of everything. That means every dish on the menu has had the RSPCA tick of approval, with Matthew working with the animal welfare organisation to find the right farmers to supply his cafes. Matthew says, I wanted to create a business founded on strong ethical principles, a business underpinned by doing the right thing. And with a formula like that, its no surprise Three Beans cafes are storming the foodie scene.
