Pappa Rich

Ive often wished for an extra stomach when half-way through a Pappa Rich meal. With its modern take on Malaysian coffee shops, the food here is authentic, spicy and plentiful. The look is cool and laid-back and the service is lickety-split, with a numbered menu and fill-it-in-yourself order system that puts the onus on the diner to get it right!

Yo My Goodness is the full name of this happening burger and frozen yoghurt joint on Kingsway. Boasting a funky interior and good-looking clientele, this eatery is always packed to bursting. The menu caters to even the fussiest burger aficionado, with options like The Black Pearl bound to stupefy the most discerning taste buds. This gob-stopping burger is made with tempura battered red-chili soft-shell crab, Asian slaw, coriander, sriracha mayo and more – Yum!

Shira Nui

If buzzing burger joints and hectic lunchtime scenes dont do it for you, then book a table at Shira Nui. With a restrained atmosphere and paired back interior, this Japanese restaurant does dining differently. Head chef and owner Hiro Nishikura is at the helm, creating a delectable range of traditional Japanese delicacies. The open kitchen means diners are able to watch the master at work and quietly enjoy the cacophony of flavours he dishes up.

Hong Kong Dim Sum

Hong Kong Dim Sum might not be in the running to win the trendiest restaurant in town award, but it doesnt need to be. This joint gets by on the quality of its food alone. And while seating is limited and the crowds can be thick, the prices are from the 80s your money will go a long way here.
