Get fit outdoors with these allsunshine included activities.
The weather is warming up and as it rises your enthusiasm for running on a treadmill in a gym drops. You already spend a good majority of your day indoors, why not use your active time to grab some fresh air and Vitamin D? On top of this, spring is the perfect time to take advantage of exercising outdoors in the not-yet-brutal sunshine. Weve put together a quick list of outdoor activities that are held weekly in Melbourne’s CBD, that will have you giving your gym membership the boot (okay maybe just until next Winter).
Park bootcamps are nothing new, however Progression Fitness takes on a new approach. They have three active levels so anyone can join and be comfortably challenged and run 17 sessions at 6 different CBD locations every week. Memberships, class bundles and casual rates are all offered to cater to your level of dedication.
The Albert Parkrun is a volunteer organised 5km run that kicks off at 8am every Saturday morning. Its free to participate, all you need to do it register online and print your barcode before getting active. The barcode is scanned at the end and your finish time is emailed to you, but dont be put off its all in the name of non-competitive fun.
If you head over to the Atrium at Federation Square on a Tuesday afternoon at 1:15pm youll find the place filled with colourful mats and bending bodies.
