South Stradbroke Island Camping

With three campsites on the island, South Straddie is a great place to camp if youre looking for peace and privacy. An island of untouched native bushland and 22 kilometres of pristine surf beach, South Straddie has been a Gold Coast favourite for years. If you go camping between June and October, youre also likely to see migrating whales heading north to breed. With a kiosk and licensed cafe called Tipplers, South Straddie is an exciting camping location. But make sure you bring all necessary supplies with you as the island is not commercialised. Also keep in mind that it is an island (duuhhh), so figure out an alternate method of transport than your car! Boats for hire, water taxis and private boats are all good choices.

Main Beach Tourist Park

Situated north of Surfers Paradise, this Main Beach campsite is located in the heart of the trendy Main Beach precinct. Just an hours drive south to the bohemian Byron Bay and many beautiful Gold Coast Hinterland attractions to the west including Springbrook National Park and the Natural Bridge. Tallebudgera Creek Tourist Park

With three swimming pools, a crystal clear Tallebudgera Creek to the north, and Pacific Ocean to the east, this is every water-lovers paradise!
