Check out the local label empowering women through forward-thinking fashion.
Ladies; if youre sick and tired of the truckloads of disposable clothing produced en masse (and being caught wearing the same frock as your bestie due to a lack of wardrobe coordination), then this one is for you!
O, Speak. is a start-up clothing label based out of Adelaide, and caters to their broad target market of ladies from 18 to 70 years young. Combining their complementary design strengths, owners Rosie Mellor and Johanna McGovern have established a successful fashion label with the purpose of empowering women to express themselves through wearable art as a medium to tell the world something about themselves.
With an equal emphasis on quality, aesthetic and function, Rosie and Jo have a palette of exclusive prints and colours utilised throughout their designs. Designing their garments with passion, O, Speak. garments are ethically manufactured in Australia and embody timeless styles.
To counter the predominantly fast-fashion culture, Rosie and Jo place a huge intrinsic importance on inclusivity in all their designs.
With every collection designed to accommodate and celebrate a diverse spectrum of bodies shapes and sizes, Rosie and Jo have set about to redefine beauty, countering harmful concepts propagated by some magazines and fast-fashion giants.
After completing their fashion design and technology courses at TAFE SA, Rosie and Jo initially went their separate ways, working for different fashion houses. It wasnt until November 2014, when Jo sent Rosie a message suggesting a collaboration. And the pair havent looked back since.
With their design styles drawing upon the well of inspiration they receive from all women, Rosie and Jo infuse their designs with feminine strength and beauty as a guiding theme throughout their collection.
Continuously improving and revising both their designs and processes, Rosie and Jos passion for not only fashion and style, but sustainable and responsible manufacturing has seen their success grow year after year.
With such an impressive expansion since 2014, we are ready to see what the future holds for these forward-thinking fashionistas!
