Everybodys favourite chef Jamie Oliver once declared: All I ever wanted to do was make good food accessible to everyone.
Postcoder was recently invited to try the new menu at Jamies Italian in the heart of Adelaides CBD, and the food definitely lives up to the proprietors vision. The relaxed menu and fantastic atmosphere within a lofty and ostentatious bank, is a standout in a city filled with quality Italian eateries.
As with every good Italian meal, the meal began with the Ultimate Garlic Bread followed by Crispy Squid paired with an Eden Valley Riesling.
Moving on to the main course, (and following the servers recommendations) our team sampled the Lamb Ravioli. Rich in flavour from the sage brown butter, a topping of crispy pancetta sealed the deal for our favourite dish of the night. A hard act to follow!
Next on the menu was the Famous Prawn Linguine. The freshly made pasta shines through here, complemented with garlic prawns coated in a thick and spicy tomato Sugo.
Before delving into dessert, pallets were cleansed with a Blood Orange sorbet the perfect citrus reset before the intense dish to follow.
We finished up with the Rich Chocolate Brownie dark, soft and moreish topped with stupendous vanilla ice-cream leaving us with a warm aftertaste of vanilla-bean.
